Police are appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage following a road traffic collision on the south bound carriageway of the A1(M) today, Thursday (March 21) at 150pm between junction 8 to 7.

It is reported that a white Peugeot Boxer van exited the carriage way colliding with a sign and trees along the nearside verge.

The driver of the vehicle was treated at scene by an ambulance crew and his injuries aren't believed to be serious. He was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Sergeant Tim Davies who is investigating, said: "Our enquiries are continuing, and I am appealing for anyone with information to please get in touch.

"Were you driving in the area at the time and saw what happened, or have any further details to assist our investigation?

"Additionally, if you have a dash cam fitted and were driving on the A1 (M) near junction 8 southbound at the time, please check it, as you may have recorded some crucial footage."

Call the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 393 of 21 March, 2024.
