Witness appeal after teenager assaulted and woman threatened with knife in Hitchin park

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault and reported knife threat in Hitchin.
The incident happened shortly before 4pm on Saturday 23 May in Ransoms Recreation Ground on Nightingale Road, where an altercation broke out involving a group of people.
A 17-year-old boy was assaulted during the incident and suffered facial injuries. A woman in her 40s also reported being threatened with a knife.
Two 17-year-old boys, both from Kent, were arrested in connection with the incident. They have since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Investigator Harry Jacob, from Hertfordshire Constabulary's Case Investigation Team, said officers are working to establish exactly what happened and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
He said: "We are continuing to establish the full circumstances of this incident and are asking anyone with information to please come forward.
"I understand several people were in the area at the time, including a member of the public who attempted to break up the altercation. If you have any information, please report it."
