Hitchin Town had a night to forget after losing 7-1 to AFC Rushden & Diamonds on Tuesday.

Read Freddie Cardy's PLAYER RATINGS from Hayden Road on a disappointing evening for the Canaries.

Charlie Horlock: 3 - Had no chance for Wreh's goals but a disappointing night for the keeper.

Key Tearle: 3.5 - Struggled to get into the game from right back.

Layne Eadie: 4.5 - Tackled well and showed good intent at times, but struggled to deal with the threat of Gyasi.

Ryan Smith: 4 - Tough and combative in midfield but never looked comfortable.

Lawrie Marsh: 3.5 - Put on his backside (literally) by Chris Wreh for the striker's goals but you have to keep in mind that he is playing out of position.

Ben Walster: 4.5 - Best defender in a Canaries shirt, but didn't show the leadership Hitchin needed at the back while wearing the armband.

Alex Marsh: 5.5 - Hitchin's goal scorer looked tidy on the ball and an attacking threat, but he was withdrawn in the second half.

Jhai Dhillon: 5 - Unlucky not to win a penalty after some incisive attacking runs, but drifted out of the game.

Callum Stead: 5 - No clear cut opportunities for the frontman, but he worked hard and showed some promising link up play.

Luke Brown: 4.5 - Didn't show his usual creative spark due to the excellent defensive efforts of Rushden & Diamonds.

Josh Coldicott-Stevens: 6.5 - The only piston left working in a broken engine. Canaries man of the match in the centre of midfield.

Substitutes:

Rio Da Silva: 5 - Nothing special on the left land side despite his pace.

Marcus Gouldbourne: 5 - Looked good on corners and showed some skilful promise.
