The first round of the Carabao Cup draw has been broadcast live on Sky Sports this afternoon, Thursday (June 22) as part of the EFL fixture release day.

As per the EFL Trophy draw that Nub News reported on earlier, Michael Dawson and Danny Cowley drew the teams out.

Stevenage will play Championship side Watford in a Hertfordshire derby.

The match will take place in the week commencing Monday, August 7, following on from Boro's opening League One match at Northampton Town on Saturday, August 5.

The Hornets will travel to Queens Park Rangers on the same day prior to making the short trip across Hertfordshire to Broadhall Way.

Stevenage are due to play Watford in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday, July 18.

The draw capped a busy morning for Steve Evans' Stevenage, who also found out their League One fixtures earlier today for the 2023-24 forthcoming season.
