Stevenage won their first away game of the season courtesy of a dramatic last-gasp 95th minute Matty Stevens winner on Saturday against Grimsby.
In a crucial relegation 'six-pointer' Boro went into the interval 1-0 up after an energetic counterattack led by Elliot List resulted in the forward netting his fifth goal of the season.
The second half started brightly for the Hertfordshire outfit. List once again causing havoc in the Mariners defence with his direct running as he hit the post.
However, just as Stevenage looked to be coasting to a welcome three points, in the 93rd minute debutant Stefan Payne broke through the Boro backline to slot home under the onrushing Jamie Cummings to make it 1-1.
Yet, despite the blow, with Boro seemingly down and out and having to settle for the draw, Luther Wildin refused to be downhearted and played a long ball upfield to find Stevens - who finished well for his first goal in red and white, to send the away bench into raptures.
The result sends the Reds four points clear of the relegation places and could be a crucial result in Boro's season.
