Passionate Hitchin Town boss Brett Donnelly has issued a rousing rallying cry ahead of the Canaries crunch relegation clash at Top Field at 3pm today.

The club's season comes down to a must win game against Stourbridge to avoid relegation from the Southern League Premier Central Division this weekend.

The renowned former Hitchin striker who joined the Fishponds Road outfit last month from Stotfold in a bid to save the club from the dreaded drop issued a plea to supporters, with Donnelly saying: "Please get down Saturday and get behind us.

"We need all the support we can get. One final push to save ourselves

"One last chance to save ourselves next weekend, sadly it's out of our hands now.

"We work hard this week and I'll be honest, we will throwing every bit of caution to the wind."

For those of you who support London Premier League sides, with the North London derby not being played until Sunday, and Chelsea featuring on Saturday night, why not head over to Top Field and back your local team.

"We need every single Canaries fan behind us," added Donnelly, who assumed the role from former long-serving boss Mark Burke in what promises to be a dramatic afternoon at Top Field, adding: "Tough times are sent to test us, and we're being fully tested at the moment but it will make us all stronger long term.

"Let us all stay as positive as possible. Whatever happens, I promise the good times are on the way."
