Stevenage lost 1-0 to Bolton on Saturday at the University of Bolton Stadium.

A Declan John goal in the seventh minute was enough to take the three points despite a battling performance from Alex Revell's men.

David Stockdale: 6 - Wasn't troubled often but had a few shaky moments

Luther James Wildin: 5.5 - Could have done better for the first goal, struggled against the lively Afolayan

Terrence Vancooten: 6 - Dealt relatively well with the threat of Doyle, was aware to the threats

Luke Prosser: 6 - Vocal throughout, led his defence well, some crucial tackles in and around the box

Ben Coker: 5.5 - Struggled to make progress down his wing, looked sluggish at times

Elliot List: 6 - A live wire on the wing, struggled at times

Chris Lines: 6.5 - Some great touches and passes forward helped the team progress up the pitch. Imposing performance

Tom Pett: 6.5 - Boro's best player on the day, very lively in the middle of the park, looked back to his best

Jack Aitchinson: 5.5 - Kept at bay by Jones, worked hard defensively and tried to get on the ball as much as possible

Danny Newton: 5.5 - Unusually quiet game, didn't have much service

Luke Norris: 6 - Looked lively and chased down every loose ball, failed to convert his chance in the last minute

Bolton

Gills: 6.5- Vocal throughout, looked to play out quickly and start attacks from the defence

Jones: 6.5- Up and down the line all game and was solid in the tackle when needed

Williams: 6 - Solid performance in the middle of the park, did the basics right and was scrappy when he needed to be. Terrible challenge for the red card however

Almeida Santos: 6.5 - Kept his defence in line, won some important aerial battles, key challenges keeping Newton at bay

Delfouneso: 6 - Looked to drive forward at every opportunity, a bright spark in the number 10 role

Doyle: 6 - Kept quiet by Prosser, didn't have much service to his feet, was an outlet for the wingers

Maddison: 6.5 - The influential midfielder looked bright on the right hand, a constant menace on the right hand side

Thomason: 6 - Some good touches and turns in the middle, scrappy when he needed to be

Baptiste: 7 - Kept Norris and Newton very quiet, composed performance from the ex Blackpool man

John: 6.5 - Good finish for his goal, good battle with Lines and Pett in the middle

Afolayan: 7 - Looked lively all game, imposed himself again Wildin, carried the ball excellently and looked a threat throughout
