League Two: A late spot-kick from Luke Norris gave in-form Stevenage a 2-1 win at Crawley at the weekend as Sutton loom at the Lamex on Tuesday evening.

Ashley Nadesan had pulled the Reds level after Jordan Roberts' opener but Norris kept calm to net the winner.

Jamie Reid went close for Stevenage early on by firing narrowly wide before former Crawley winger Roberts gave Boro the lead by volleying home from 12 yards in the 23rd minute.

However, Boro clinched victory five minutes from time when a handball by Nick Tsaroulla allowed substitute Norris to make no mistake from the penalty spot.

Steve Evans side host Sutton United on Tuesday evening at Broadhall Way, after the original fixture was postponed due to Her Majesty, The Queen's death last month.

"Every point in League Two has to be earned, nothing is easy", said the boss. "Crawley have got a talented squad so we knew it would be tough in advance. We have a very talented group of lads and the desire each of them to play and win is fantastic. I am so proud of them".

The weekend triumph saw Boro ease four points clear of the play-offs, nestling second behind Leyton Orient who lost on Saturday, but canny Boro boss Evans isn't getting carried away.

"It is interesting when you compare the league at a similar stage last season," he said.

"Barrow and Harrogate were up at the top end early last campaign before they both finished lower down the table so there can be no room for complacency. No team can or should think about anything over than trying to get three points in the next game".

"I have huge respect for Sutton United as a club, the manager and the players they have. They are a team who can and do beat the best teams regularly, so we need to be focused on everything we do".
