League Two: Stevenage 0-0 Mansfield Town

Steve Evans Stevenage played out an attritional goalless draw with Nigel Clough's Stags on a bitterly cold winter's afternoon at Broadhall Way.

In the process, Boro consolidated second spot, four points behind leaders Leyton Orient, who had their match at Crewe Alexandra postponed due to the arctic weather sweeping across the country.

Stevenage's best chance came on 58 minutes when Saxon Early showed quick feet to work space on the edge of a crowded box, only to see former Boro keeper Christy Pym gather his shot.

Speaking to Nub News after the match, boss Evans reflected on a smattering of boos from a handful of Stevenage fans at the final whistle, saying with tongue firmly in cheek and a twinkle in his eye: "It's like when you don't ever go for a pint after work and your missus expects you home at the same time every day - and then you snick off and go for a beer, and she's disappointed.

"It's all about expectations - and Stevenage fans understand about the progress we've made."
