Stevenage Football Club have confirmed Premier League side West Ham United have recalled Joseph Anang from his loan spell at the Lamex.

The 21-year-old goalkeeper made 18 appearances in League Two for struggling Boro this term, and now returns to the London Stadium at the request of the Irons.

Anang also made two appearances in the League Cup, two in the EFL Cup and a single appearance in the FA Cup.

In 2019-20, Anang played in all but one league game for the Irons' development squad as they enjoyed an unbeaten Premier League 2 Division 2 campaign, lifting the title and clinching promotion.

He also featured in his first-ever Premier League match-day squad - away at Crystal Palace on Boxing Day 2019 - and made an England U20s debut in a 3-0 win over Iceland in that November.

Anang will return to the Ease End and continue to train with the first team and appear for the club's U23s side.

Stevenage wished Anang well, posting on their Twitter account: "All the best to Joseph Anang who today returns to West Ham."
