Dan Butler's second-half winner helped Stevenage boost their play-off hopes with a 2-1 comeback triumph against promotion-chasing Barnsley at the Lamex on Tuesday evening.

In front of another excellent crowd of 4,727, Adam Phillips put the visitors ahead, prior to Northern Ireland international Jamie Reid equalising before the break.

The 29-year-old former Peterborough and Newport defender Butler then sealed a vital victory with an excellent free-kick to make it 2-1 six minutes after the interval.

The win saw Steve Evans side move to within three points off the play-off places - albeit still in ninth place with Oxford still the in the driving seat in sixth - while Barnsley remain in fifth with only three games left to play.
