Rhythms of the World, a registered charity, will hold its AGM at Club 85 on Monday, March 20 at 8pm.

The Charity is steered by three trustees (the minimum permitted under the Articles of Association).

All three trustees have indicated that they will be tendering their resignations at the meeting.

Unless new trustees are elected, the Charity (and Limited Company) will propose by special resolution that Rhythms of the World be dissolved.

The Trustees have reached this difficult decision after considering the challenges faced in meeting public expectations of what the Charity can deliver.

In these times of financial and regulatory constraints, providing a festival of the type that local people remember with affection is no longer possible.

Additionally, with a declining active membership, the Trustees believe that Rhythms of the World is no longer sustainable.

Should the proposal to dissolve the Charity be passed, the current trustees will establish a working group to ensure that the correct legal route for the disposal of assets and transfer of Intellectual Property is followed.

The charity's objects are in Section 3 of the Articles of Association, membership information is in Sections 2 and 6, and trustee information is in Sections 27-30.
