Three vital Hitchin community groups have been awarded more than £2k in grants.

Three community groups have been awarded a total of £2,230 following a meeting of North Herts Council's Hitchin Area Committee earlier this month.

Lucian Agape sent to prison after indecently exposing himself to teenage girls on Old Hale Way

A man has been sent to prison after a series of indecent exposures that took place in Hitchin and other places in North Herts.

Lucian Agape (36) has been sentenced to 20 months for each offence to run concurrently and is now the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order which will remain in place for 10 years.

The public will be consulted on a proposed change to admission arrangements for Pirton Primary School near Hitchin.

This follows Herts County Council approval last month to consult on proposals to close nearby Hexton JMI School from August 2022, despite more than 400 parents and supporters signing a petition to keep the establishment open.
