A 13-year old youngster has shaved two years' worth of hair off for charity, raising vital funds for the much-loved Garden House Hospice Care.

Charlie Markarian braved the shave after deciding to fundraise for the Hospice which cared for a close family friend in the final few weeks of her life earlier this year.

HITCHIN:- Waste chiefs from across Hertfordshire are spear-heading national calls for tougher sanctions for fly-tipping – as latest data shows an increase in fly-tipping across the county.

Last year (2020/21) there were almost 18,000 incidents of fly-tipping recorded in Hertfordshire – equivalent to 1500 every month – costing in excess of £1.2m to clean-up.

THE increase in people buying dogs during the Covid pandemic has brought with it a new problem in some parts of the county – overflowing dog litter bins.

In some areas there are reports that dog litter bins just aren't big enough to cope with the increase in demand.
