Four Winds Saxophone Quartet Concert at St Mary's Church

Fabulous music from the Four Winds Saxophone Quartet

Four Winds showcase the expressive power and flexibility of the saxophone in an hour-long programme covering six centuries of music. In the beautiful surroundings of the iconic medieval church, they'll begin with the glorious sounds of renaissance polyphony, and make their way to some original pieces of their own via music from Purcell, Weil, Bartok and many more. The musicians forming the quartet are local stars: Phillip Brunton - soprano saxophone; Paul Arnold - alto saxophone; Paul Woodin - tenor saxophone; Karys Staddon - baritone saxophone. Tickets are £12 in advance, £15 on the door. Also available from Hitchin Information in the Churchyard from August. You can find out more on the group's website https://fourwindssaxophonequartet.com/ Bar on the night. Doors open 6.30pm, 7 pm start & finish by 8.15 pm so you can still enjoy Hitchin's Foodie scene afterwards!

Before the main event the Quartet will perform a free concert suitable for younger music fans at. At 5pm, around 40 mins of music, designed especially for families. Princesses, Pirates, and a sprinkling of magic. This event is not ticketed. seats are available on a first come, first served basis. St Mary's hope everyone enjoys the experience, with donations possible at the end to give to the work of St Mary's.
