A popular Hitchin hairdresser has likened Monday's easing of lockdown restrictions to Christmas!

Felix Camfield-Walker, owner of Felix Farley's Hair Emporium in Hitchin town centre has been rushed off his feet since reopening early this morning.

His shop on Hermitage Road has been busy with people of all ages needing haircuts after three lockdowns in 13 months.

So, how does he feel after 'the first day back'?

"Tired, tired," the charismatic hairdresser replies, adding, "It's been a long day, but it's great to be back.

"We've had lots of people walking past and waving.

"We've even had people drop by and give us chocolates. People are so glad to be out and about, there's a real Christmassy feel to Hitchin today.

"There's definitely a celebratory feel in the air today in Hitchin.

"It's been great because it's been such a long winter. We're just glad to be back and hope we can all stay open."
