Comments on the application to develop the main spine road (The Avenue) from Stotfold Road connecting to High Dane as part of the Highover Farm scheme close on Friday (14th February)

The application also covers the creation of drainage ponds, swales and other associated drainage infrastructure, signage and other necessary highway and service infrastructure.

Proposals to build 700 new homes on the site were given the green light by North Hertfordshire Council's planning committee back in 2023 after "no legal reason" was found to refuse them.

As of today (13th February) there were 15 comments objecting to the application.

The original scheme faced significant opposition due to concerns around congestion and increased traffic, issues reflected in those objecting to this phase of the development.

One objector wrote that the plan "will hugely increase volumes of traffic in the Woolgrove road area which is busy enough as it is".

Another described it as "completely unacceptable and will be dangerous".

Highlighting how big schemes can lead to individual challenges one resident wrote that the scheme if approved would "prevent me from being able to leave my drive to drop my children at school and to get to work".

Those wishing to submit comments can do so via the Council's Planning Portal (search for "Highover Farm")
