A charity golf day organised by housebuilder Croudace Homes has raised £16,000 for a Hertfordshire charity that supports young people at risk of homelessness.

The event took place at Manor of Groves Golf Club and brought together more than 100 golfers, including Croudace Homes employees and members of the company's supply chain network, to raise funds for Herts Young Homeless (HYH).

Founded in 1998, HYH works across Hertfordshire to prevent youth homelessness through education, advice and practical support for young people and their families. The charity says it has already supported around 900 young people facing homelessness during 2025.

Money raised from the golf day will help fund a range of services aimed at ensuring young people have a safe place to live. This includes outreach work, counselling sessions, essential household items and financial support such as deposits and rent in advance for those moving into private rented accommodation.

Jonny Whitehead, Chief Executive Officer of Herts Young Homeless, welcomed the fundraising effort.

He said: "This generous sum raised by Croudace Homes will go a long way in supporting our mission to prevent youth homelessness here at Herts Young Homeless. We will be able to help more young people stay safely at home, provide crisis support when there is nowhere else to turn and support 18 to 25-year-olds through key transitions to independence."

Karly Williams, Managing Director at Croudace North Thames, said the event reflected the company's commitment to supporting local communities.

She said: "This was a brilliant opportunity to bring our team together to support a local cause. At Croudace Homes, it's important that we not only deliver high-quality, much-needed homes but also ensure that we are doing what we can to support the local community."

The developer is currently building homes at its Weavers Gate development in Hitchin, as well as Warwick Place in Cheshunt.

Herts Young Homeless provides support to vulnerable young people across the county, helping prevent homelessness before it happens and offering assistance to those already facing housing difficulties.
