A popular Hitchin event celebrating local businesses is set to return this summer — with alpacas, live music and medieval re-enactments all on the line-up.

Churchyard Day will take place on Saturday 6 June, running from 10am to 4pm, bringing a full day of free, family-friendly entertainment to the Churchyard area.

Organised by Visit Hitchin, the event is designed to showcase the independent businesses around the historic Churchyard while offering plenty to keep visitors of all ages entertained.

What's on

This year's programme includes a mix of live performances, activities and attractions, including:

  • Hitchin Rock Choir
  • The Corn Hill Alpacas
  • Tours of the church
  • Children's entertainment
  • Historical re-enactment from Swords of Penda – Children of Loki
  • Food and drink stalls
  • Monkey Music Hitchin
  • A shop window trail
  • Face painting and more

Something for everyone

With a blend of music, history and hands-on activities, organisers are promising something for all the family — whether that's meeting alpacas, exploring Hitchin's heritage or simply enjoying the town's independent shops and cafés.

The event also offers a chance for residents and visitors to support local businesses in one of Hitchin's most picturesque areas.
