North Herts PRIDE is inviting local businesses, community groups, and organisations to take part in this year's Pride Day in Hitchin on Thursday 22nd August, with stallholder spaces now open for expressions of interest.

The event, which has become a warm and inclusive celebration for LGBTQ+ people and allies across Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock and the surrounding villages, will once again bring colour, music, and community spirit into the town centre.

Organisers say the day is designed to feel "gentle, welcoming, and rooted in local community life", with stalls offering everything from crafts and wellbeing activities to information, support, and family‑friendly engagement.

Businesses don't need to be LGBTQ‑focused to take part — just supportive of creating a kinder, more inclusive North Herts.

Katie Wilson, co‑founder of North Herts PRIDE, says:

"We know not every business feels able to sponsor or take on something big. But having a stall is a simple, friendly way to show support and be part of a day that means a lot to many people locally. We want it to feel easy and pressure‑free for anyone who'd like to join us."

Volunteers also needed

Alongside stallholders, North Herts PRIDE is also welcoming volunteers who can offer a little time on the day — whether that's greeting visitors, helping with set‑up, supporting accessibility needs, or simply being a friendly presence.

Katie adds:

"Pride is built by local people. Even an hour of someone's time makes a real difference. If you feel drawn to help create a warm, safe, community‑rooted day, we'd love to hear from you."

Stallholders and volunteers will receive full details about set‑up, timings, and accessibility closer to the event. The team emphasises that there is no pressure or obligation — they are simply opening the door to those who feel aligned with the spirit of the day.

Anyone interested in having a stall or volunteering is invited to get in touch with the North Herts PRIDE team.
