Hertfordshire County Council intends to introduce additional parking restrictions in Hitchin in a bid to combat 'inappropriate parking' during school runs.

Consultation on proposed parking restrictions in Hitchin has started ahead of the new school term - with plenty of new double yellow lines on the horizon.

Whitehill Road, Passingham Avenue, Offley Road and Harrison Close are just some of the areas that could be affected.

The council maintain that painting double yellow lines on Whitehill Road, between the junctions of Broadmead and Whitehill Close, to remove inappropriate parking and improve sight lines.

The council also aims to paint double yellow lines at the junction of Passingham Avenue and Whitehill Road and double yellow lines on Offley Road, between Moormead Close and Wratten Road West.

Double yellow lines are also planned at the junction of Harrison Close and Walsworth Road.

Visit hertfordshire.gov.uk and search for 'consultations' before September 4 and make your voice heard.
