Have your say on the future of local government in Hertfordshire

Hertfordshire residents are being invited to share their views on the future of local government as councils across the county explore major changes to how services are run.
The Government has asked two-tier areas such as Hertfordshire to bring forward reorganisation proposals, with final submissions due by 28 November 2025.
Three draft options have now been put forward, aiming to:
- Simplify how local services are delivered
- Improve accountability
- Ensure councils are better aligned with the people they serve
Local people are being encouraged to take part in the consultation by reviewing the options and sharing feedback before the deadline.
The easiest way to take part is via the online survey at www.hertfordshire-lgr.co.uk.
In addition, two public engagement events will be held on Tuesday 24 September 2025.
- Letchworth Community Forum, Letchworth Library
- Royston Community Forum, Hardwicke Hall at the Town Hall
The survey remains open until 30 September 2025.
This consultation gives residents the chance to influence how decisions are made and how local services are delivered across Hertfordshire in the years ahead.
