Hitchin: Callous thieves break into Churchyard property and steal 'high value jewellery'.

Police are hunting burglars that broke into a property in Hitchin town centre.

Officers are on the lookout for cold-hearted thieves that broke into a property in Churchyard and stole expensive jewellery.

Herts Police said: "Offender(s) gained access to Marie Antiques in Churchyard and stole thousands of pounds worth of jewellery.

"Between 4pm on September 17 and 9am hours on September 20 offenders have broken into a property in Churchyard in Hitchin and stolen high value jewellery.

"If you have any information please contact the Police on 101 quoting crime number 41/75972/22 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

The news caps a miserable week for the area following the mysterious deaths of ducks and geese at the Riverside prior to the beautiful Weeping Willow snapping at its base and falling.
