Railway timetables during the forthcoming strikes have been revealed.

Great Northern and Thameslink have unveiled their strike timetables ahead of mass railway staff walkouts.

Govia Thameslink Railway is urging passengers to only travel if necessary on Saturday, October 1 and Saturday, October 8 due to industrial action.

Four trade unions - Aslef, the RMT, the TSSA and Unite - are set to lead the walkout this weekend in a dispute over pay and job security amid inflation running rampant and the value of money in real terms falling rapidly, set amongst the ongoing cost of living crisis.

RMT and Unite the union members are also set to strike again on October 8 as pressure ramps up on the country's current, but already lame duck PM, Liz Truss.

Govia Thameslink Railway, the franchise that runs Gatwick Express, Great Northern, Southern and Thameslink  - will be affected by the RMT strike.

This weekend's strike - as well as Unite's - will affect Network Rail, the body that controls signals and tracks in our area as well as up and down the land.

Chief operating officer Angie Doll said: "It is with much regret that we have to advise our passengers to travel only if absolutely necessary on Saturdays October 1 and 8."
