Hitchin councillor agrees with Labour leader Keir Starmer's call for next James Bond to be a woman - to end 'historical sexism and misogyny'

Kier Starmer has called for the next James Bond to be a woman - and a respected female Hitchin councillor who met the Labour leader this week agrees.

As incumbent Daniel Craig bows out portraying the iconic secret agent in the latest Bond film released this week called No Time To Die, Starmer has called for him to be replaced by female actor.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain earlier today [Thursday, September 30], the leader of the opposition said: "I don't have a favourite Bond, but I do think it's time for a female Bond."

Renowned Hitchin councillor Judi Billing agreed.

Ms Billing who knows the Labour leader well, most recently meeting Mr Starmer at two separate events during the annual party conference this week in Brighton agreed it was time to change the narrative.

Speaking to Hitchin Nub News, councillor Billing, who has fought tirelessly and passionately for equal rights for women during her entire career said: "I think it's an excellent idea to pull James Bond away from Ian Fleming's historical sexism and misogyny in any way possible.

"Dr Who managed it."
