As Nub News has reported previously: Coming soon to Hitchin - a new town restaurant.

Craft and Cleaver is set to open next month at the Grade II-listed building that was formerly home to Prezzo on Bancroft.

Eagle-eyed visitors to Hitchin town centre will have noticed the work going on at the site on Bancroft - after a planning application was submitted over the summer with North Herts Council to allow the American style barbecue restaurant to serve Hitchin meat-lovers.

The unit has stood empty since 2021 when Prezzo shut for good in Hitchin - but Craft and Cleaver are dropping hints as to when they will be throwing their doors open to hungry punters.

Posting on their Insta account owner Adam Richardson said: "We're so excited to finally share the news with you that we'll be opening our second site in Hitchin later this year.

"It's been a mega journey. We've been looking for just the right Hitchin site for years, and when I saw this place wasn't reopening after Covid, I was waiting quietly for it to come up for lease. It's perfect.

"We're super psyched to open in a town with such a great food & drink scene, and alongside some of the best in the business.

"We hope we can bring something a little bit different to this awesome town, compliment our friends & neighbours well and have a load of fun along the way!"
