Hitchin: Met Office issues weather warning as temperatures set to soar to 34C
A heat alert warning has been issued by the Met Office and UK Health Security Agency (UKSA) as temperatures in Hitchin are set to rise to 34C later this week.
As Hitchin Nub News reported earlier this week, a heatwave is on the way to North Herts.
The nation's forecaster said a level 2 alert has been issued for our area from midnight on Friday until midnight on Sunday.
Forecasters said southern parts of the UK could hit 30C (86F) and even top 34C (93F).
If you do plan to sunbathe on Windmill Hill or Bancroft please do remember to use plenty of sunscreen and keep rehydrated.
A heatwave is defined as three consecutive days of daily maximum temperatures meeting or exceeding the heatwave temperature threshold.
