Witness appeal following road traffic collision in Hitchin

Police are appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage following a road traffic collision in Hitchin.

At around 6.40pm on Thursday (6 October), a blue Citroen C3 and a black Vauxhall Astra were in collision on Walworth Road, near the junction with Radcliffe Road.

Officers attended alongside the East of England Ambulance Service and the air ambulance. The driver of the Citroen was taken to hospital in a serious condition after he was believed to have suffered a medical episode at the wheel.

Sergeant Tim Davies, of the Road Policing Unit, said: "This incident took place on a busy road near the railway station, I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage of it to get it touch as this would assist our investigation into what happened.

"Anyone with information is asked to please contact me directly by email via [email protected]
