Police are appealing for information following a number of criminal damage incidents in Westmill.

As Hitchin Nub News has reported officers in North Herts are appealing for information after a large amount of criminal damage has been caused in and around the Westmill estate in Hitchin.

Over the past three weeks a large number of reports of damage have been received, which include vehicles being mindlessly damaged – with either wing mirrors being kicked off or wipers being ripped off.

Low walls to some properties have also been kicked down, causing expensive damage.

Police said: "We are appealing for information following a concerning amount of criminal damage, which has been caused on the Westmill estate and Bearton area in Hitchin.

"We believe those responsible are probably living locally and may be known in the community. We are urging anyone with any information to pass it on."
