Hitchin Rewind: Get set for the brilliant family friendly Walsworth Festival - take a look at our photo gallery of previous events with photo's taken by Jeff Scarber
Festival-goers are eagerly awaiting fun in the sun at the Walsworth Festival this weekend with groups galore set to entertain Hitchin punters.
A bumper crowd is expected at the long-running event on Woolgrove Road, which returns after the pandemic forced it to be mothballed for two years.
The popular festival has long been a staple of the Hitchin summer social calendar, after Covid forced the family friendly festival to halt during the coronavirus crisis.
Passionate organiser and tireless Hitchin advocate Felix Camfield-Walker has been busy working for many months to ensure a memorable festival for everyone.
Felix told Hitchin Nub News: "Walsworth Festival will have great food and drink with music, classic cars, entertainment, fairground rides, stalls and so much more from 10am on Sunday.
"We haven't got a main event as such but there are also fringe events in Walsworth Community Centre and St Faith's Church.
"The day will culminate in the Viking hoard entering the arena and taking on all the local children - the kids always win, obviously..."
The event has been running since 1974 and has produced many happy Hitchin memories over the years.
Why not take a look at these evocative photographs by Jeff Scarber of past festivals below, and see if you can spot yourself in the iconic shots.
Among the many participants, the RNLI will be running a stall at the eagerly-awaited Walsworth Festival.
The RNLI said: "Come and visit our stall at this wonderful family friendly festival to learn more about the lifesaving work carried out by the RNLI's volunteers.
"We shall also be be selling RNLI branded merchandise, handing out colouring sheets for the children and you may even like to learn how you could participate in the Mayday Mile to raise funds.
"Members of our local fundraising branch will be on hand all day and will be delighted to talk to you."
