The latest Hitchin Street Food Monthly event has been hailed as a huge success.

Punters flocked to our town's beautiful Riverside for a selection of top quality local food and drink on Thursday evening.

The evocative town centre site in the shadows of the iconic St Mary's Church played host to plenty of mouth-watering street food from local businesses.

The Hitchin fayre on offer came from our town's acclaimed Mexican restaurant Cantinas Carnita, as well as top-notch burgers from Cafe 77.

Cantinas' renowned supremo Matt Bean took time out from serving a raft of happy punters to speak with Hitchin Nub News.

Popular Matt said: "Hitchin Street Food Monthly has been another huge success. It's been good to see so many people come down to the Riverside and sample the great food on offer from so many brilliant local independents.

"Thanks also to @ourhitchin and @hitchinmarkets for inviting us back to the Riverside."

Other food options included Lime Face offering Malaysian food, while Flamenco Churros provided sweet snacks, with Hey Spud selling a succulent section of loaded fries.

The busy team from the Victoria Pub were also present, with the queue from thirsty punters stretching all the way back to the River Hiz at times.
