There will be a live streaming service available for Remembrance Sunday courtesy of St Mary's Church.

The looming second lockdown of 2020, which starts tomorrow, Thursday, will mean the public won't be able to attend the traditional service to honour the fallen at Hitchin's cenotaph near to St Mary's this weekend.

However, people who wish to pay their respects will still be able to watch the ceremony.

A statement from a spokesperson for the beautiful 12th century church in the heart of Hitchin said: "This Sunday, we will be livestreaming a service for Remembrance Sunday at 10am via our YouTube channel.

"Please note that this service is not open to the public, it is only available via livestream.

"We are very sorry that we are unable to admit people with tickets to this service as previously planned.

"Under national regulations we are now required to run the service behind closed doors without a congregation present."
