I was looking at the latest travel trends recently and there's a definite shift in people's travel priorities and habits.
The pandemic-induced shift to remote work has inadvertently breathed new life into a new type of travel - 'workations'.
As people are less tied to physical offices, the idea of working remotely from different locations and for longer periods is becoming more popular.
This shift allows people to experience new cultures and places without giving up their work.
As a foodie, I was happy to hear that food based travel is also becoming increasingly popular. I went on a food tasting tour of Thailand a few years ago, which was amazing, so I'm not really surprised to hear that this type of travel is growing in popularity.
We had a local guide who took us round food markets and bought samples of different foods for us to try – many of them we would never have been brave enough to try without guidance, as we didn't know what they were or what to do with them, so it was an amazing experience, although I resisted the temptation to try the local delicacy of insects and grasshoppers! We also had cooking lessons with locals and of course got to sample our own creations at the end.
On the opposite end of the scale of the extended 'workactions', 'microcations' are also becoming more and more popular. With an increasing desire to travel the world and explore new countries, these quick getaways provide a refreshing break from routine without necessitating extensive planning or time off.
At this time of year, the perfect 'microcation' for those with little ones is a trip to Lapland. A magical and unforgettable trip of a lifetime for the whole family.
All Santa's Magic adventures include; Flights, luggage & transfers and a full day of activities including husky and reindeer sleigh rides. Thermal suit, thermal outdoor boots, woollen socks and thermal mittens to keep warm in snowy Saariselkä, Finland. And of course, a private family meeting with Santa.
Free child places and hotel discounts are currently available, but places are limited to be quick!
