Man dies after fall in Hitchin industrial area

Police have confirmed that a man has died following an incident in Hitchin this morning (Monday, November 10).

Officers were called at 7.58am to Wallace Way, near the town's industrial estate, to assist the ambulance service after reports that a man had fallen from a height.

A man in his 70s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, despite the best efforts of emergency services.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this sad time".

Enquiries to establish how he fell are underway and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed.
