Most expensive lockdown property sales in Hitchin - find out which deal topped the charts

By Layth Yousif 9th Feb 2022

HITCHIN: Properties in Kimpton, St Ippolyts and Offley are the places that provided the biggest property sales in and around Hitchin at the height of lockdown, the most recent data has revealed.

According to research undertaken by property tech company Twindig, the most expensive site in our area that was sold during the period in question was at Cannons Farm, Ansells End in Kimpton.

With a selling price of £3m, no wonder it was top of the charts for properties sold between the summer of 2020 and 2021.

Next came a property called The Wyck in St Ippolyts, which changed hands during lockdown for £2,150,000. While Birkitt Hill House in Offley went for £1.7m.

In fourth spot was a property on London Road in St Ippolyts that reached a sale price of £1,650,000.

However, none of the above matched the most expensive property deal in North Herts during the height of lockdown.

As you can see from Twindig's data, that crown went to Letchworth Industrial Estate, Works Road, that was sold for more than £12m.

Most transactions by street

Twindig also released details of the most transactions by street.

Sales on Hitchin Road came second at 28 over the same time frame as the details above. Bedford Road came fifth in the list with Grove Road sixth and Nightingale Road seventh.
