A charity with a store in Letchworth raised more than £6,000 during a recent fundraiser.
The popular Willow Foundation, with a shop in the heart of our town held a charity duck race earlier this month.
Around 450 ducks descended on Lee Valley's White Water Centre rapids for a quacking good day out to help boost the popular charity with a store on Leys Avenue.
The event opened with Willow's main sponsors, Red Letter Days, just beating Willowmina (Willow's duck) in the head to head race, followed by the Corporate Duck Race Title going to Thornton Logistics.
Willow's much-loved founder Bob Wilson's duck made it to the Grand Finale but was kept at bay by Willow's Great Big Duck Race 2022 Winner - Veronica from Letchworth. While Ben and Orlaith came in a close second and third, winning cuddly ducks donated by Star Events.
A spokesperson for the Willow Foundation told Letchworth Nub News: "A huge congratulations to all our winners!
"Your support for the event raised over £6,000 to create more Special Days and Special Treats for seriously ill young adults aged 16-40.
"We have already started to draw up plans for the next big race in 2023. Until then, keep an eye on Willow updates to be the first to know when registration is open!
"Thanks again for supporting Willow and raising money for Special Days."
