Renewed appeal for witnesses following fatal collision on B1000

Police are continuing to appeal for information following a fatal road traffic collision on the B1000 in Tewin and are especially keen to trace a cyclist who reportedly stopped at the scene.

The incident occurred between Digswell and Hertford, near the Waterside junction, at just after 3pm on Saturday 28 January.

A white Ford Transit Connect and a blue Peugeot 307 were involved.

Sadly, the driver of the Peugeot, a man aged in his 70s, died from his injuries.

Detective Constable Ben Amondsen, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "Our thoughts remain with the man's family and friends at this very difficult time.

"Our enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances around what happened and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or captured dash cam footage, to please contact us.

"I am especially keen to hear from a cyclist who is reported to have stopped at the scene and left prior to, or just after, the arrival of emergency services. If this was you, please do get in touch as you may have information to assist our investigation. Thank you."

Anyone with information is asked to please email [email protected]
