Police probe altercation in Hitchin

Police are appealing for witnesses following an altercation in Hitchin.

At around 3.40pm on Friday, 27 September, it is reported that an altercation occurred between a pedestrian and the driver of a black Vauxhall Astra at the zebra crossing on Walsworth Road.

The pedestrian reportedly hit the car with an item, causing a dent, before punching the victim in the face.

Following enquiries, a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH) and criminal damage. He has since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Investigator Aaron Golley said: "I am appealing for anyone with information to please get in touch.
