By James Denselow 10th Jun 2026
Suspected Class A drugs were seized by police during a warrant carried out at a Hitchin property as part of ongoing efforts to tackle drug-related crime in the town.
Officers from the North Herts Neighbourhood Policing Team executed the warrant at an address on Sunnyside Road on Monday 1 June.
During the search, police discovered and seized a large solid crystal substance, believed to be a Class A controlled drug, weighing approximately 18 grams. Officers also recovered items which they say indicate the substance was being supplied.
PC Allen said the operation highlighted the importance of proactive neighbourhood policing and information provided by local residents. He said: "This proactive operation shows our continued effort to target drug activity in the county.
"Our neighbourhood officers play a vital role in this, using their close relationships with residents and understanding of local issues to help us identify those who pose harm to our communities.
"We want our residents to feel confident that we are listening and that we will always act on the intelligence and concerns you share with us.
"You are our extra eyes and ears, and the information you provide directly helps us make such interventions.
"By continuing to work together with our neighbourhood policing team, we can keep North Herts a safe and welcoming place for everyone who lives, works and visits the area."
Police are encouraging anyone with information about suspected drug dealing in the area to contact PC Allen via email at [email protected].
Residents can also report information about drug-related activity through Hertfordshire Constabulary's online reporting channels or by calling 101. In an emergency, always dial 999.
