Police want to identify mobility scooter-riding, puffer coat-wearing elderly female owner of dangerous bulldog who 'fled' scene after Hermitage Road attack

Police are appealing for witnesses after a dog attacked another dog in Hitchin.

The incident occurred on Saturday, November 25 at around 8pm on Hermitage Road, Hitchin.

It is reported that the victim had been walking their dog on its lead when a small, white dog described as a bulldog type which was off its lead, approached them.

It attacked the victim's dog and caused bite injuries. The victim was also injured falling to the ground whilst trying to separate the two dogs.

The suspect owner left the scene on a mobility scooter with the offending dog before any details were able to be taken.

The suspect is described as an elderly female, wearing a black puffer coat, and riding a red mobility scooter.

PC Will Cox, from the Hitchin Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "Were you in the area at this time and saw this dog attack? Or do you have any further information that may assist our investigation? Please contact me at [email protected]."
