Save the date! Plans have already started to make the forthcoming Hitchin Cider and Cheese Festival the best yet.

Hitchin Town's grand old Top Field will play host to an eagerly-awaited summer event - with Lyndhurst Financial Management big backers of the community event in our town.

The evocative site on Fishponds Road normally plays host to our national game - but the home of Hitchin Town FC is set to welcome foodies and as much as football fans this summer.

Speaking to Hitchin Nub News, Lyndhurst's operations director Adam Cook said: "Lyndhurst are pleased to commit our support for the Hitchin Cheese and Cider Festival at Hitchin Football Club which is scheduled for Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 1.

"We appreciate how hard it is to put these community events on and we will do what we can to help make the event a success."

As ever, there will be a great selection of cheeses to soak up the cider. There will also be free live music on both the Friday and Saturday nights with bands and artists to be confirmed.

So, save the date for the Hitchin Cider and Cheese Festival which runs from Friday, June 30 to Saturday July 1 at the Canary Club, Fishponds Rd, SG5 1NJ
