Shaping future SEND provision in Hertfordshire

Hertfordshire County Council have launched an online survey and announced a series of in-person listening events across the county for people to share their experiences and ideas.
Both will play a crucial role in shaping the upcoming SEND Summit and informing the development of the future SEND strategy.
Cllr Mark Watkin, Executive Member for Education, SEND and Inclusion, said: "Please take part in the engagement opportunities over the coming weeks. It's so important that we hear your views. I am determined that a wide range of voices will inform us in the next phase of our improvement journey and help shape the future of our SEND services. Together, with empathy, partnership, and determination, we can build a system that truly works for every child and every family in Hertfordshire."
The survey will be open for the next 6 weeks (19 June -31 July). Take part in our SEND survey

The SEND summit, taking place on 15 September, will be an important moment in our drive to improve services for children and young people with SEND as well as their parents and carers, and everyone who works in the system.
The invitation-only event will bring together parent carer representatives, schools, professionals and partners to explore challenges, share learning, and build shared ownership of the changes we need to see. It will also spotlight national developments in SEND policy and how they affect Hertfordshire, alongside local progress and innovation
