Animals, princess parties and face painting: February half-term fun returns to Standalone Farm
By James Denselow 15th Feb 2026
Families in Hitchin can enjoy a packed programme of half-term activities as Standalone Farm hosts a series of special events for children throughout the February break.
From Monday 16 to Friday 20 February, visitors can take part in Educational Animal Encounters, led by exotic animal specialist Mark Amey, followed by a guided woodland forage and themed craft session.
Bundle tickets include full-day farm entry from 10am to 5pm, access to the animal encounters and the guided woodland tour with craft activity. Advance online booking is required for all attendees.
Meanwhile, children can enjoy a touch of magic at the Enchanted Barn Party, taking place across two weekends — 14–15 February and 21–22 February.
Each hour-long session features fairy princess-led games, music, bubbles and activities, plus free squash for children, complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits for adults, and a Standalone Farm party bag for every child.
Adding to the fun, professional face painters from RogueDesigns will be on hand daily between 10am and 2pm from 14 to 22 February, offering designs ranging from dinosaurs and dragons to flowers and rainbows. Face painting is available as an optional add-on and can be paid for at the Party Barn on the day.
Farm organisers say the programme offers plenty to keep children entertained over half-term, with a mix of animals, outdoor exploration and creative fun.
Advance booking details and ticket information are available via the Standalone Farm website.
