Spider-Man fans will have the chance to meet their favourite web-slinging superhero when he makes a special appearance in Hitchin this month.

The famous Marvel character will be swinging into town on Monday, August 17, as part of the summer activities taking place at Hitchin Beach.

Families are invited to come along and meet their "friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man" between 11am and midday.

The appearance will take place at Hitchin Beach, the popular temporary attraction which has once again brought a taste of the seaside to the town centre during the school summer holidays.

Organisers teased the visit with Spider-Man's famous motto: "With great power comes great responsibility."

The event offers young superhero fans the opportunity to say hello to Spider-Man and enjoy Hitchin Beach at the same time.

Spider-Man will be at Hitchin Beach from 11am until midday on Monday, August 17.
