Stevenage Football Club has appointed former Crystal Palace managing director Dominic Jordan as its new chief executive officer.

The 51-year-old arrives after spending the last twelve years running a sports partnership business he founded in 2010.

Prior to that, he was the operations and managing director of Crystal Palace for ten years, involved in all aspects of the running of the club in the Premier League and the Championship. Dominic Jordan will take up his new position from Monday, March 28.

"We had 77 applicants for the CEO position and interviewed some very strong candidates. Dominic's experience, strong desire to link with fans and the community and, most importantly, skillset to grow revenue streams made him our standout choice and we are delighted to welcome him to the club", said Stevenage chairman Phil Wallace.

Stevenage currently sit in 21st spot in League Two and are in the middle of a battle against relegation.

Boro host promotion chasing Newport County on Saturday at the Lamex in desperate need of a welcome victory after three defeats and two draws from the last five games.

Dominic added "I am delighted to be joining Stevenage Football Club as the new CEO" "I have been extremely impressed by what has been achieved at the club and I am looking forward to forging strong relationships with the fans, the local community and the fantastic businesses within it".
