Who remembers the Arlesey Pram Race?

It usually started at Arlesey railway station with teams gathering first at the Old Oak on Church Lane.

While we're not sure if health and safety would allow such a madcap event these days - imagine their faces when those taking part hit a fair speed down parts of the route through Arlesey - we'd love to put together one of our special Nub News nostalgia/heritage 'Rewind' features.

So, please do get in touch and share your memories for an in-depth article on such an iconic event in Arlesey - especially those who took part in the race dressed 'appropriately'! By that we mean grown men in nappies and 'radioactive' suits for example, as we as those who 'commandered' 'vehicles' such as mortuary trollies!

Whether your dad 'borrowed' your rocking horse head to adorn the front of his pram, or if you were one fo the competitors who took part - while perhaps taking in refreshments at any number of the 12 pubs that existed on the route at the time - we'd love to hear from you.
