Letchworth Garden City's talented young Eagles proudly displayed their newly sponsored training kits before flying to victory in a cup final.

The U17s, who lifted the Rutter Cup after a 3-2 triumph over Bassingbourn Youth U18s, wore the training gear supplied by Redwood Bank as they warmed up.

The specialist business bank had intervened after previous sponsorship for the team had ended.

The move demonstrates the Bank's strong commitment to Letchworth and its young people and Redwood's logo is now shown on the team's training strip.

The move was organised by Linda Stanley, Redwood's office co-ordinator in Letchworth, who nominated the team. She said: "It's wonderful to see how people come first with Redwood and no more so than with our Community Sponsorship programme that allows employees to nominate clubs and causes they feel would benefit from support.

"I'm really delighted to be part of a team that connects with the community and helps out the locals in such an impressive way.

"The excellent Letchworth Eagles U17s won the cup, an even more impressive feat as they're playing up a year and competing with the under 18s, and now they can train in style."

The partnership with the Eagles reflects Redwood Bank's continued dedication to community involvement. The sponsorship aligns with the Bank's ongoing commitment to championing local projects and celebrating hard work and success.

Letchworth Eagles' Under 17s Manager, Tony Clare, said: "Letchworth U17s are grateful for Redwood Bank's generous support this season! Their backing has helped us equip our team with training kits, making a real difference on and off the field. This year, the team has been outstanding – not only are they performing well, but they also look the part. Sponsorships like this are a fantastic way for local businesses to give back and strengthen our community."

Michelle Monck, head of marketing at Redwood, said: "The bank's grassroots sponsorship programme is based on colleagues' nominations, and we see it as an important part of building up a positive culture for our colleagues and helping us to support communities.

"This isn't just about sponsorship; we know how much the team means to its players and their families, and we're pleased to support them like this.

"We're delighted to work with these fantastic young footballers and wish the whole team the best of luck for the future."
