Walsall 1-1 Stevenage: Late, late League Two leveller leaves Saddlers distraught

Danny Rose's 100th-minute equaliser earned Steve Evans' Stevenage a dramatic point on Saturday to leave Boro in fifth spot in League Two after the first three matches.

Boro drew level in the 10th minute of time added on in the West Midlands as a 1-1 draw at Walsall ended both sides' 100 per cent starts.

Walsall led for most of the match through Danny Johnson's fifth goal in four matches - but that was before Rose headed home Arthur Read's far post cross.

Johnson, the Saddlers' on-loan striker from Mansfield continued his good start to the campaign by firing the Saddlers into a 13th-minute lead.

Jamie Reid nearly pulled the visitors level from Dan Sweeney's low cross but was foiled by home keeper Owen Evans.

After late victories in each of Boro's first three games of the season, Evans' side will be aiming to continue their good run of form on their return to The Lamex Stadium this week when Robbie Stockdale's Dale visit. See Nub News for our coverage from Broadhall Way on Tuesday.
