Steve Evans' Boro moved into third spot in the third tier, following their impressive victory in East London on Saturday afternoon.

Charlie McNeill put the visitors 1-0 ahead with a left footed shot after Dan Butler's cross in the 21st minute.

Dan Sweeney's header moments before the interval doubled the lead, putting Stevenage in the driving seat at 2-0.

As the clock ticked down, Nick Freeman's right footed shot from outside the box for an emphatic 3-0 scoreline sealed an eye-catching victory over last season's League Two title winners.

While Orient may have pipped Evans Stevenage to top spot last term, it is the side from North Herts that has adjusted far more readily to the more difficult demands of League One this season.

Evans side sit third, level on points with four other teams, with Exeter and Bolton Wanderers only ahead of Stevenage on goal difference.

Boro host fellow fourth tier promotion side from last season, Carlisle United at Broadhall Way next Saturday and Nub News will be there.
