League One: Stevenage 1-3 Oxford United - Steve Evans side lose at the Lamex as tough trip to Bolton Wanderers looms

Despite a first half strike from Jamie Reid, Boro lost at home to visitors Oxford on Saturday.

The clash pitted second vs third in League One in front of a bumper crowd of 5,512 - and with Evans' side buoyed the large Broadhall Way attendance, his high-flying side duly went ahead in the 15th minute.

However, birthday boy Greg Leigh brace helped Oxford take all three points, with the 29-year-old former Manchester City starlet levelling for Liam Manning's promotion-chasing team only eight minutes later.

The Sale-born former England U19 international - now a full Jamaica international - then added a second term ten minutes after the interval, to put the U's 2-1 up.

Worse was to follow for Stevenage as Oxford captain Elliot Moore sealed an impressive victory with eight minutes remaining against Evans side, who still remain in third spot.

Evans knows that his side will have to be at their best to beat fallen Premier League side Bolton Wanderers in a tough trip to the North West on Tuesday evening. Stevenage then host 2013 FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic at the Lamex on Saturday.
